Strut Brace

Post by Timmie_g »

K guys here's my question.

What Front Strut Tower Brace are people using after swapping to a ZE???

I have preformed the ZE swap(curved neck) and i noticed that the engine sits higher in the bay which means i need more clearance in my strut brace. but if i make it tall enough to accomodate the intake then i dont have clearance to close the hood.

is there something im missing or can this just not be done

3 ways to fix 2 involve a grinder... put spacer nuts on strut toer to space it and hope u dont get an after market hood cause it wont fit... grind a bit off top of im or grind a bit off strut bar . I just took mine off, i have one in the back and a grand worth of suspension. I didnt make that much of a difference..

I heard a rumor that the new style corksport front strut braces dont have the clearance issues that the older styles do. Could give Corksport a call and ask for Derek.. he should have a answer for that.

Pretty Common sense,

Put it on if it doesn't fit then check what its hitting, put some washers to prop it up, close the hood if still hitting, then take a grinder on the two bolt holes on top of the manifold....

Everything is pretty much trial and error on our cars. not alot of aftermarkets support. Aftermarket always need some TLC to make it fit nothing aftermarket fits right out of the box.
