Importing MX-3 into Canada
Does anyone know what modifications need to be made to the MX-3 to be imported into canada. I know you have to get DRL's but is there anything else I need to know?

Contact Mazda and get the 'Recall Notice,' then when you cross the border with it, you'll get the 'Form 1.' Fax the recall notice to the Registrar of Imported Vehicles and they should mail you the 'Form 2' within two weeks. The 'Form 2' will tell you what modifications are required for the vehicle to pass. Bring all your paperwork to Canadian Tire and they can help you out with getting it inspected.
What year is your MX-3? If you have airbags, they are required to work properly. The airbag light should flash on in the dash when you turn on the car, and then go out within a couple seconds. Also, the airbag information tag on the sunvisor must be displayed in English and French.
You should be able to get a DRL module either from the dealership or universal ones are available. Generally the universal ones are an hour labour for a shop to put on. The Canadian Tire part number of the universal unit is 20-4001.
Next thing to worry about is if your province requires an Out of Province Inspection. British Columbia does need this, but I'm not too sure about what the other provinces require.
