Hey guys ,
Whats up? my name is Jay, I drive a 92 GS. I am from Muskegon area,Michigan. I am looking for advice on a few things. Each week we host a meet locally and its mostly Honda/Acura. I sometimes feel left out because there isnt anyother mx-3 or mazda's period. I like my car but everyone is telling me to get a Honda , what do you think ? I can compete with alot of them on the street besides a few with b18's . I have the stock k8 for now , I want to swap in a KLZE eventually but cant afford it right now. I am looking for ways to improve the K8 right now so it performs alittle better, any suggestions. Also I am really into the JDM look of things. What is considered JDM for us though ? what are some popular JDM parts? Where can I get them? I plan to do a lip kit , I heard the accord lips fit nicely without any hard modification, but what yr accord? I am sorry about all the questions but I am a noob lol. I just want to be able to look as good if not better than the local civics lol. I also would like to perform just as good if not better. All help and advice would be greatly appericated. I want JDM heads but it seems they dont make any really for this, I am thinking of making my own , shaving the lens and making them smooth and clear and then doing some type of city light in them . any suggestions on this?
Thanks, Jay.

Welcome to the board!
If you plan on buying a KLZE in the future, I would buy upgrades that will fit on that engine as well. A CAI intake will make your throttle more responsive while a header might free up some horsepower. Not much, but maybe just that extra to give you the edge over your friends. The best is that if you buy a MX-6 header, it will fit on your K8 as well as on your KLZE.
Other than that a shortshift comes highly recommended, as well as upgrading your bushings to polyurethane on the transmission. I've used the SRD bushings, but unfortunelately they are going out of business. There are another company that makes bushings called Super Pro. See Corksport for more suggestions.
Upgrading your suspension and brakes will prepare your car for the extra power it will get from the KLZE. I have a setup that I am very happy with: Red Koni inserts for struts, H&R springs, EBC Turbogroove front discs and EBC greenstuff all around. I'm sure many other people on this board have different setup and are as happy with their choice as I am.
When it comes to body kits and styling you have to get those answer from someone else. I plan to keep my MX-3 fairly stock, with the addition of the Mazdaspeed front lip.
Cheers and good luck with your MX-3. Don't let those Hondas get you down!

i cant really add much to verzutiko's response he pretty much covered everything, as for the headlights, there has been a few members who did some custom work and it looks great, i'm making a set too, best way to answer most of your questions and find useful info is to search, especially when it comes to headlights, theres too much info you need to look at.. anyways goodluck with your car

Thanks man! I appericate it! is a mx-6 stock header better than that the mx-3 stock header or is it the same?
The KL is a ways away , so for now ill bulid on the K8. I have exhuast, short shifter.
Who makes aftermarket k8 throttle bodies?
what about upgrading the fuel and spark systems ? would that help? also i had as weapon-r intake but it made my car idle rough, i guess the MAF didnt like it.
bushing might be a good idea. I have drop zone springs, I am looking to go KYB struts with powerstop drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads .
Where did you get the mazdaspeed lip ? I love mazdaspeed stuff but cant seem to find anything for the mx-3.
Hondas brought me down alittle, I am just glad you guys are here to cheer me up and point me in the right direction, I have to keep on truckin!

Don't buy aftermarket k8 throttle body, save these money to your KLZE fund.
You might look into something other than KYB. To my understanding these are OEM replacement. Look into the TOXICO struts as thes are an upgrade, not replacement.
You can get a Mazdaspeed lip (front bumper) from Corksport. There is no such thing as a pure Mazdaspeed lip.
You will take down those Hondas with a KLZE, I promise you!
