I just recently repainted my MX3 black
For my first paint job I got alot of compliments

Its kind of funny because I ended up putting SURFACE PRIMER (not sealer) on the whole car. I wet sanded all of it. Primered it again, wet sanded one last time then I put sealer.
I guess putting surface primer is good practice

I ran the clear coat a little in some areas but I can wet sand that with 400grit and buff it out.

Right now I am working on a CRX.

Thats my thread

I will post hi-quality pics of both the MX3 and CRX sometime soon.
Those pics were from my CellPhone

Wow thats really cheap
A gallon of Surface primer or Sealer?

I paid about $200 for a full gallon of black paint, gallon of clear coat, gallon of reducer (for the paint) and a gallon of topcoat hardener.

BTW, it only takes a little more then half a gallon of paint to paint a MX3. 3QTs to be safe.

So he covered the whole car in surface primer, why? Its not neccesary. You just have to put primer on scartches, fixed dents and stuff

No you dont put primer over the entire car. Just the areas where bodywork was done to. And you seal the entire car when there was major bodywork done ie hood, deck lid, roof, fenders, 1/4's etc.

Interested on how you made your rear and side skirts, were those retro fitted from another car like a accord?
