Gut-wrenching sight

Post by jschrauwen »

On the way home while passing by the local auto wreckers I saw a gut wrenching sight. A white GS was suspended 15' in the air by a forklift while being lifted and transported into the compound. Externally it looked to be in reasonable shape with no noticeable accident damage. It just seemed to be a shame to see another go to the bone yard, perhaps prematurely. :(

Those forklift things have no mercy either do they? Well at least she can live on in other mx-3's helping keep them on the road.

Everyone is just gonna have to love their cars a little extra thats all.

These days that is not that unusual sight in Quebec and Ontario A lot of car that are more that 7-10years old are sent to the crusher rather than sent to the scrapyard or resold. Out of the near 28K MX-3 registered in total in these 2 provences, the last check with the SAAQ and MoT there were less that 10k still registered. Most were declared scrap by their owners or by dealers because of the very low resale value, even though they were still driveable. It is to the point were there are more that a few auto recyclers importing MX-3 from the states to break up for parts because they don't get a chance at the Canadian cars being taken off the road.
