No way. Engine is way too wide (long), and there isn't a FWD transaxle that will mate to the LS1 that I know of.

You'd have to do something funky about the radiator most likely.. and you would have to have no life and a ton of cash to do it.. but it could probably be done..

Thats why you make it RWD

Yes it is possible to put a LS1 in it. Hell I once seen a V8 Beatle and Ford Focus!
Lets not forget about V8 Miatas and even a V8 Honda CRX
Ofcourse, they were all RWD
A V8 MX3 would be awesome!

Erf. well, okay, I wasn't thinking of a RWD conversion. That'd be sick, but I don't even want to think about the number of zeros behind that kind of operation. Would probably have to cut and fab the firewall and belly pan to make room for the tranny, and you'd have to find a new route for the exhaust, 'cause the driveshaft would be using the "tunnel." Unmuffled Cobra style side pipes? heh

Ridiculous. It's making my head hurt. I quit.

I tihnk that yo dont see is the RWD gearbox, although you dont see it, there's room in the tunnel for it. Mx-3's dont have (a large enough) one because it's not RWD.

Your Mx-3 would lool similar to this in the end
