I have my head off of my 94 mx3 1.6 and when i put my head back on do i have to get new headbolts to put it back on or can i use the old ones. Cause the cheapest head bolts i have found are $104.

You can re-use your old ones as long as the threads are in good shape. Run a die down over the threads to clean up the threads of the bolts and then run a tap down the bolt holes of the block. Lightly oil each bolt in the threads (only a little bit) before you put it back in.. this will give you a more accurate torque result. If you find any pitting or cracking in the threads.. or.. if the bolt & threads appear stretched, replace them.

If you are gonna buy new headbolts, might as well buy ARP head studs... they're about the same price.

But I believe those bolts are not torque-to-yield bolts, so you should be okay to reuse them. Make sure you torque them back up to spec!

Shades is correct.. the bolts are not torque to yield bolts.. Having rebuilt the head on my 94 RS.. I can attest to this.
