I was reading the DYNO
Year 1995
-Make and Model Ford Probe GT
-Transmission MTX
-Mileage on engine ? JDM used from Sun's Engines 130,000 on chassis
-Type of engine KLZE
-Power mods only KLZE, AEM AFPR @ 43psi wot, Home Depot intake, stock exhaust manifolds VS Hotshot headers, 2 1/2" mandrel piping to Magnaflow muffler, hollow cat, klde ecu & vaf, stock ignition, MSD wires
-Other misc parameters 91 degree temp 15% humidity, 10btdc, 17x7" rims, 235-40-17 tires at 42psi.
-Brand of Dynomometer DynoJet 4th gear
-Elevation of the city where you dyno'd San Bernardino, CA - 1200 feet
Stock manifolds: 157.9hp/151.8trq
Hotshot headers: 171.6hp/159.3trq

I see he has bumped fuel pressure.. could that be the key?? Im at stock fuel pressure.. any tips would greatly help a dissapointed ze driver.. im doing around 15.8 to 15.9
Street tires (could be the reason) mods listed.
I checked and it is a real ze, i am at 3000 feet above sea level.
its not about beating people but getting the most of my ze. I dont want to go MS just yet.

how much whel spinn are you talkin bout? is the car getin sidewaze?
is the engine reving cleanly? any slow spots in rpm band? what rpm are you launching at?

yeah i was sorta mad, the probinator chip seems to work tho.. maybe its somethign wrong with my engine ,Ill correct the topic. I decided to start this one to be more specific to the performance not having to do with the chip.
I do seem to notice small laggs during the power band of course this was before the kl 02 vaf. Now it got a bit better but it seems to be lacking power. The spin is horrible.. im sure that accounts alot.. I have 205 55 r 16 negotriator gtire (last time i heard those are SUV tires)
II tried diff launch.. one at 3 k roms and it spinne dof course.. another at 1 and spins , i try to take it easy on those gears, It doesnt have the pull that other zes have tho. Compression is good, its a real ze. Flat pistons. Kl 01 cams.
It does have a bit of torque steer.. Spark plugs are new, wires are new, disty rotor is good, no vacuum leaks. Havent checked what my fpr presure is at. I use regular unleaded. Codes i get is code 69 fan temp sensor. and egr codes, no cel light tho.
Im going to a dyno in 2 weeks to see what numbers it pulls.

well i am currently working on another mx3 at my shop and it has a kf swap. whn the codes are cleared it runs pretty good but when code 69 & 16 pop up it runs crappy. i checked alldata and there are serian codes that induce limp mode. the ecm cuts ignition timing and tys to drop output.
code 16 egr possitios sensor prob will set limp mode. but not all ecms are so smart. i have run several ecms and only 1 will set codes quickly and run limp mode. at the 8th mile strip i ran 1 second slower with the cel on than if i disconnected the batt and touched the cables togeather to clear ecm memory the car ran great untill code set again.

hmm interesting.. so code 16 makes ecu run in lymp mode? I have no cel because supposebly it was erased from the cpu..however its there? I get no CEL tho. I did get a cel when i was running the wrong vaf. Any way of finding out if its in lymp mode? My current 0-60 is at 7 secs flat (according to gforce ) LOL its a .5 difference from the last reading using same meter and same variables. With k8 ecu + k8 vaf it ran 8 secs 0-60.

i will look that up again and list all the conditons that activate limp mode.
and no i dont no how to tell if ecm is in limp mode.
also i have a few ecus that wont go into limp mode.
i think mazda ecus have a lot more errors than we think. other than satrun i can think of no other car that runs so diffrently from just switching ecus. most manufacturs have a code for hardware errors. we are not so lucky.

Mostly ALL manufactures use hp rated at the flywheel. Why? Because its the highest horsepower rating they can show on paper, and that attracts more buyers.
The klze does infact make 196 Hp at the flyweel. But nobody cares about that, because there is so much more going on AFTER the flywheel that can limit the output to the wheels. WHEEL horsepower is always less. 170-180 on a ZE is decent.

Klze motors DO NOT HAVE 200bhp they have 190-195bhp depending on the year Vaughn I believe was the one who provided the information about this years ago.
The majority of all klze guys are making between 150-170whp depending on the modifications you will not make 200whp unless you have a few mods
Seriously guys this has been listed over and over and over and over and over and over. I don’t see why it’s hard for people to find this information. And it’s the SAME PEOPLE every single time. It's getting ridicules. Perhaps we should start deleting people’s threads and post since they since to NOT want to do simple searches and look OBVIOUS information up.
And Hec I don’t know what to suggest, after seeing you having problems with both kf and klze swaps I have to not question Mazda's motors but possibly the way your installing them or the quality of the motors your getting, as you seem to have to of had the most problems out of both KFZE and KLZE. Not trying to be rude but you just got to wonder about it.

indeed, search was futile after a few hrs of search..
AS for the install, I dont see how I messed up. Its a new engine harness, new ecu, new vafs, replaced and rewired every single wire loom in the engine bat. All the pins go there except the speed sensor wire.
IM sure ill find out what it is. I tiought a forum is for discussion.. imagine if i wouldnt post? LOL no one would post... Not saying i keep the pl;ace alive but thats what this is a forum to discuss our beloved mx3. If we long time users have a hard time using search.. imagine newbies?

i'm not reading all this stuff because its useless and you all should use the search. yes the ZE is 200hp but thats at the crank. A dyno will tell you at the wheels.
Hector. You put this ZE in not long ago and keep making these useless posts about how this aint right and why is it so slow. I think you just need to keep trying and you will get better at driving
as for your ZE doing almost 16's MX3's are pretty light cars so they spin like a mofo..Get some good tires and learn how to launch. Slip the clutch instead of dumping it. then work on your shifting. Shift at the correct rpm and shift as fast as you can. What is your 60ft times?
