1)The first things we have done to the car was cleaned the head lights and replaced the stock tail lights with black tail lights.

I had taken the car to Mazda to have a few small checks done; afterwards they gave the car a nice cleaning.

2)The second thing we did was remove the broken GS lip, and remove the 92 GS spoiler and install a 96 GS wrap around spoiler. We also removed the optional hatch shade.

3)The third thing we did was remove the damaged leaking sunroof and replaced it with a sunroof from a 96 MX-3 and it now works fine with no leaks.

4)The fourth thing we have done was replaced the e-brake cables with brand new e-brake cables, and fixed the seized brake caliper.

5)The fifth thing we did was go to a junk yard and find stock speakers and installed them in the car. Than we found an aftermarket deck and installed it in the car as well to fix not having a stereo.

6)The sixth thing we did was find a used hatch cover from a junkyard and put it in the car.

7)The seventh thing we did was removing the A-pillars and Wiper Cowl and painting them Brilliant Black.

8)The

We have purchased quite a few aftermarket parts to go on the car. I will add a “to do” section in a post below soon with pictures.

B)Appearance Modifications

Here’s a collection of appearance modification’s we’ve collected so far.
([ ] = Not Installed [x] = Installed)
Valve Covers [ ]
Slimvisors [ ]
OEM Side Skirts [ ]
Mazdaspeed Bumper [ ]
AZ-3 Fender Lights [ ]
15" Rota Slipstreams [ ]
Sparco Globe-X Shift Knob [x]
CF Gas Door [x]
CF Radiator Support [ ]
CF Eye Lids [ ]
Clear Turn Signals [ ]
J-Spec Lip [ ]

Front and Rear valve covers bead blasted and powder coated Carbonite Black. I put these under appearance and not performance because valve covers don’t well effect the performance of the car.

Image

Slimvisor’s V2 bought off eBay to help reduce wind noise on the highway, and to help keep a bit of rain out when driving during rainy days.

Image

OEM side skirts bought off eBay. Didn’t want anything bigger so these were perfect.

Image

Fiberglass Mazdaspeed bumper bought to replace the broken stock OEM bumper. Nice and aggressive but not over doing it.

Image

AZ-3 OEM fender signal lights, bought off eBay, haven’t decided if they’ll go on the car or sit on the shelf as a souvenir.

Image

15” Black Rota Slipstream’s had to buy them in 15x6.5 because 15x7’s were not available at the time and were on back order for to long. These should look really good on the car once I get a set of tires to go with them. They weight 12lb’s each.

Image

I purchased this Sparco Globe-X leather shift knob because I had driven in a civic with a similar shift knob and it felt a little nicer than the big OEM shift knob in the MX-3. This is a personal preference of course. The only problem so far is the shift boot won’t stay underneath the Sparco shift knob, I think this can be fixed with a short shifter. But I haven’t purchased one yet.

Image

Carbon Fiber gas door purchased from group-buy. I like the looks of it and the install wasn’t too hard. Hardest part is getting it to line up nicely.

Image
Image

Carbon Fiber radiator support purchased from group-buy. I really like the look of it, it’s really nice. It will wait until the engine swap to get installed unfortunately.

Image

Carbon Fiber eye lids purchased, undecided if I will install them or not, I have test fitted them and they do look nice, but I am worried that they will fall off, or make the head lights difficult to clean.

Image

Clear turn signals bought off eBay because they were half the price as the ones offered from Corksport.

Image

J-spec front lip bought off eBay. Haven’t decided if I will install it or not. Need to find an OEM bumper or J-Spec OEM bumper first.

Image

Carbon Fiber oil cap I bought just because I couldn’t resist. I’ll install this once I get my KLZE and get it installed.

([ ] = Not installed, [x] = Installed)
OBX Headers [ ]
KL31 ECU [ ]
KL47 Intake Manifold [ ]
KL47 Fuel Rails [ ]

KL31 ECU purchased off group-buy for future engine swap.

Image

KL47 Intake Manifold bead blasted and powder coated Gunmetal, KL47 fuel rails powder coated bronze/gold. And KL47 throttle body bought to go with the Intake manifold for the future engine swap.

Image
Image

OBX camber bolts bought for when I get new struts/springs and put the rims and tires on the car. That’s a bit away.

Image

SS brake lines bought from Corksport to replace stock ones. Hope they don’t turn out bad.
