custom kickpanels

I don't have any pictures.. but i made some sweet kick panels
all i did, is took cardboard and placed it in the corners, used a carpet cutter knife, to shape it to the contours of the area by the fuse box on drivers side, and allowed for the chasis frame that protrudes on the floorpan,
same w/ the passenger side, then used A MDF type wood cut the shape,
then cut a hole for the speaker, attached a plastic bowl w/ silcone on the back of the panel. ran wires thru it,
Covered the panel w/ carpet, and spray glue,
Then drilled screws thru wood, into metal (sheet portion) You could use small L style brackets that bend just the same.
The result, SICK stereo immaging with clear defined deeper sound..
Worth EVERY moment of time it took to make them.
Door speakers fire at each other and just don't sound as good ...
the kick panels aim the speakers around the vicinity of the Shifter and the Drivers right ear / passengers left ear...
Close your eyes (obviously while not driving, ) and it is like your right in front of the stage at a concert!!!

Sweet, I'd love to do that too and have a set that were built for 5 1/4s, but they just take up too much foot well for me.

I did similar, but I used 1/8" sheet steel, welded it in, and the panel has enough room for a 5" mid and 6" midbass. I'm going to end up just using a 5" mid though since I found 8" midbass for the door for a good price.

Yeah. When I'm done, I'll have it up. I'm on paint now though. Stayed up all last night shooting my car with primer. When paint is complete, then I can roll into finishing the stereo stuff.
