Tinted Taillights

I tinted my taillights a while back with NiteShades, and later on i got my windows tinted. My car is dark and i think the dark tails are too dark for the car and was wondering if i could somehow remove the taillight tint or make it less dark!?!?

Did you put the tint on the outside or the inside? The only thing I can think of is to take paint thinner and remove the paint. Then wash it up and redo it.
