yah it's illegal... matter of fact i was in regina for a tournament and me and my friend were driving around and cop pulled over a guy with one of those neon liscence plate holders

so as far as i know its illegal in alberta and sask.

i imagine u'd get a ticket for about 104 bucks.. thats what ig ot for my tint ticket and i didnt have to pay it if i got it taken off

they might not give u that choice though

I have underglo on my car ... and I got a ticket for $58 canadian. The kit usually comes with four tubes, (2) 30 inch and (2) 65 inch approximately. They do fit our cars well, just have to roughly place the bulbs where you want them and note where the bulbs touch to use your clips. My kit cost $300 cdn. It is the 9500 Volt kit and looks great at shows or in the parking lot. And getting back to my ticket, the only reason I got one was because a same colored car flew by me downtown where I live and by the time the cop caught up with me, he had called me in as driving dangerously, reckless, and endangering others. I explained that it wasn't me....... :( and showed him the takeout food I just went to get and he literally told me " I have to write you up for something and seeing as you have NON FACTORY LIGHTING you're getting a ticket for that". I could have fought it but 58 dollars is way cheaper than a day off without pay!!!

I got a Eurolite kit for my car. I bought a new set back in spring. My old set was Eurolite as well. They looked great, but they endured all torture and all weather. They went through hell and kept on working. I would of still had that set if I didn't tear off the passenger tube driving over a large ice chunk that literally ripped it off the car. This new set is the 9000v version and looks nice. It was the first mod done to my car when I got it over 4 years ago; yes it was Fast And The Furious inspired, but to this day I still find it looks nice, and beautifully accents the car

In Ontario, all light laws are directional, so as long as I hide the bulbs fromt being visible from the front or the rear. the rear is tucked away in the bumper, but the front would be very bright, so I cut a piece of foam pipe insulator in half and used it to block the forward light, so technically it's not illegal to use while driving. Reason why the neons plate covers and LED washer nozzles are illegal. In the time I've had them, I've driven by cops and never gotten pulled over. I just make sure not to drive like an idiot if their on, definitely bring attention to myself.

But for lights, I stay away from the cheap kits, they usually are brittle, and/or don't last long. We did the Ottawa cruise a week and a half ago and it was rought, very rought. My neons widthstood the run and still work great. For durability, I have thoroughly tested (my car is a race car before a show car) and highly recommend the Eurolite neons.

Hey, check this page out. It's the SGI laws of vehicle modification

http://www.spsracing.ca/vehiclemods.html
-No vehicle driven on a highway shall be equipped with:

(a) a lamp that emits a white light facing to the rear;

(b) a lamp that emits a red light facing to the front;

(c) a lamp that emits a blue or green light;
