second visit to moroso w/1.8T

Post by andy »

It was a good night. For those that don't know my car = 93 MX-3 GS 1.8T
t3/t4 t04E 57 trim, 8 psi non-intercooled. stock tires & suspension.
TWM hotpipes,2.5" exh,no cat,dynomax turbo muf, millenia intake w/phenolics,60mm TB,220cc inj,8:1 FMU,greddy bov, 1 step colder plugs,running 93 oct.

I got 4 runs in.
My last run was my best.
60' 2.388
330' 6.453
1/8 9.691
mph 76.83
1000' 12.407
1/4 14.704
mph 99.06

All 4 runs were under 15 seconds. Its nice to actually win some. Pre-turbo I rarely won any, last night I won all 4. and at least two of those were worthy opponents.
I want to mention that since someone asked about my sparkplug gap I did have a problem on the way home from work. So I pulled the plugs and regapped them to .030-.031". I haven't had a problem since.
I still feel as if theres alot more in her, sitting in the staging lanes it gets darn hot under the hood versus coasting up to a red light and letting her loose. Oh well, I have purchased an intercooler (thanks keith) and will be installing soon.

I'm having trouble launching in gerneral. I need more practice with this setup. to high an rpm and spin/wheel hop to little and it bogs , when that happens I get antsy and floot it which brings back the wheel spin/hop.
It probably wouldn't hurt to pick up some drag slicks.

Slicks will help. I ran a 14.2 with my NA ze..i think i could of hit HIGH 13's if i had slicks...but what probably would of happened is a broken axle. I wonder what my car runs now with MSnS and the Millinia manifold/TB...i need to go to the track.

I have the same prob with my ZE..first gear is basicallly usless for me : (

have you put in colder plugs yet, or are you still using plugs for N/A BP. if you are running hot and your plugs are droping, i would highly reccomend running colder plugs. Bugs went from 150 WHP to 212WHP just from plugs on the dyno, on 12psi.

my best time in FWD on my turbo B6 was a 14.2 on 6psi, i was running Nitto Drag radials, but i had a really crappy reaction time.

That 1.8T is for the V6 motor. Yes I do have one step colder plugs in gapped at .031"
Reaction time doesn't factor in to your 1/4 mile time. Now your 60' time, that matters and mine suck.
