Stock side skirt

Post by Chemical »

I've spent most of the afternoon trying to sort out my side skirt. I mean the stock one - you know the small plastic trim in front of the back wheel. My cars had a small bump in the past I suspect and its been repaired. The problem is that it has a gap at the top where it meets the bodywork. When taking it off I see there are two steel plates afixed to the inside of the skirt and there is like velcro on them and then velcro on the bodywork itself so it gets held on there. The problem is tho this gap at the top... I tried double sided tape and a poly adhesive but no good.

I'm sure someone here has had the same thing so any suggestions please?

I used 3M DOUBLE SIDED TAPE on mine and it's been almost a year and and it has stuck to the car very well. I cleaned and scraped off anything attached to the inner perimeter of the sideskirts then rubbed it down with rubbing alcohol and then applied the 3M TAPE. Then I used the the same rubbing alcohol on the sections of the car where the tape will be applied to the body from the sideskirt. Then I applied pressure by hand to the sideskirt for about 5 minutes to make sure it was completely secured to the body.

I hope this helps bro.
