weird problem

I noticed a weird problem with my 94 4 cyl DOHC ATX- If i have it parked downhill (front lower than back) then the car would drive like a dream for the next 20 mins or so. if i parked it uphill (back lower than front) then it would drive like crap (even on a flat road) and i have step on the gas really hard to even get it upto 30mph. This effect is much bigger if i am idling uphill/downhill on drive.
This is most noticeable in traffic stops that are inclined - first i thought going downhill is always faster and thats why it looks that way - but i can really feel the difference even on a flat road after an inclined traffic stop.
Anyone have any insights on what could be the problem... Thanks.

it could be possible that there is some water in your gas tank.
Water floats on top of gas, therefore if your parked uphill and your gas tank is a little low on fuel, the pump might suck up some water.

I always thought its the otherway around - gas floats on water - thats why one cant use water to put out a gas fire - the gas will simply float on the surface and keep burning.... If it turns out to be otherwise i am gonna have serious issues with my physics teachers for sure

I like the water theory - water does settle on the bottom. Use isopropyl dry gas to break down existing water molecules - allows it to pass through the FI engines fuel filter and get eliminated, otherwise you get water buildup at the filter. Use methonol dry gas on regular basis to prevent water build up in tank.
Had a '74 Dodge Charger once, someone didnt like me and stuffed a paper bag in the gas tank. Until I shined a flashlight down in the behind-the-liscense-plate tank and found it (several weeks later) the car would inexplicably die at any point in time while driving but I could start it back up after a minute or so. Paper apparently got sucked against fuel pickup and then drift away once the suction was gone.
