Water pours in window!

Post by azazel95 »

Didn't really know the best place to stick this so I stuck it here

Ok, now there is no leak linked to this first off. I believe it is a simple design flaw. When driving with water on top of the car (for what ever reason) the water pours, not trickles, but POURS basically right into my face with the window down. What is happening is water laying in the groove at the top of the windshield is being pushed back by wind and directly into my open window. The grooves in the car almost seem to lead it directly there. Even if the window is opened JUST enough to let a slight breeze more water comes in then air.

So my question is does anyone else experience this? Is this a flaw the designers at Mazda never noticed? Because I must say it is very annoying when it just got done raining and I'm trying to drive with water splatting me in the face and crotch.

LOL. That's funny. I've noticed that also, but I found mine out while driving and I hit my washer fluid with the window down. I guess just don't roll down the window when you will have any kind of water near the windshield or roof. Problem is the car was designed with the top of the window/door much further tucked in than the bottom of the window/mid door. Just something to live with in my opinion.
It might be slow, but it's not a civic!

azazel95, here's a couple links to the 2 dif rainguard visor styles for the MX-3.

http://sinnovations2.com/mazda_mx-3_90- ... _90-95.htm
http://store.streetbeatcustoms.com/gts41910.html

The slim visors (1st link) look great but they are more expensive & do leave a tiny gap at the lower end near the mirror I believe - no biggie

The sportsgard visors (2nd link) cost less and are fine for fitment but their "bubble" design makes em stick out a bit, unlike the slim visors.
