DUAL INTAKE

Post by UKMX-3 »

I know our cars have a complicated intake system as it is, but i've recently got my hands on a second K8 throttle body and intake assembly, and i had a bit of a weird idea.

What would happen if i managed to have two throttle bodies running at the same time

ie an extremly oversized CAI, probably configured so that at high speed you got a proper Ram effect.

Then the standard JE50 MAF, then a large bore Y-pipe going to Two K8 throttle bodies, synchronised to work in unison.

Or you could have the throttles set so that one operates as standard and the other only comes on at high revs.

I know this seems a bit crazy but its an idea.

OK, Ignoring the dual throttle idea

Does anyone know what effect a proper RAM intake would have on a JE50 MAF, would it just tell the ECU to dump tons of full in the engine to correct the air fuel ratio, or is it more subtle than that.

Ram air doesn't do crap. Ferrari sais that on the new 430s at 90mph it adds about 10hp.= Not worth the effort.

10bhp at 90mph sounds okay to me, okay thats on a 3.5litre V10, but its worth a shot
