Wich transmission
hi guys,
I'm a couple of weeks away from my B6T swap and i'm collecting parts right now
But just a question: will a transmission from a mx-3 V6 or the one from a MX-6 V6 fit the B6T. I'm not sure cause the B6T is B series and the V6 is K series. I don't thing a can get one from a protege cause a live in hollland.

Re: Wich transmission
You need to find an F series gear box for the 1.6 liter. All K series v-6 engines used a G series trans so they will not interchange. North American 4cyl Mx-3's and 2nd gen Protege's used an F series gearbox that will bolt straight up with no modification.jordy wrote:hi guys,

Re: Wich transmission
Hummm, thats funny I have a G series on my 1.6L. the Pro LX, and Escort GT uses a G series trans. and the only major modification you will need is the half shaft mount to the block. real easy to do with a DA and a multi disk and drill. but its the best stock trans you will be able to get. if you do a search on it there are alot of posts on the swap. pretty straight forward. any 90-94 Protege thats a DOHC should be a G series trans.jaydog5678 wrote:You need to find an F series gear box for the 1.6 liter. axle diameter, cv joint
Be careful, the Scort GT changes axle cv joint to diff diameter from 91-92 with the 93-96. LX stays the same.
