mx3 vs. del Sol

Post by luke_mx3 »

my friend is thinking of buying a del Sol. I have a 4 banger stock mx3. What would a race between both cars result in. My car is really slow but I've never seen a del Sol race but I imagine they're fast. Would my car possible hold up if I turboed it?

I agree... wrong section.

But if it's a 94 Del Sol SI... it's no competition. A B16Z1 running 160hp from the factory will make a similar modded MX-3 look silly.
It might be slow, but it's not a civic!

That's only if it's an SI, though. Most aren't. Versus a normal trim del Sol it'd probably be close, those things are featherweights even compared to us.

They are only ~250 lbs heavier or so.

not too bad...

As said, if he gets the SI version, then ya, sorry but he will leave you in the dust unless you do some serious mods.

i have heard that the mx-3 is faster no if and or buts to it from a source that is why i'm hesitant in my interest to buy a del sol.

I think Del Sols are very unattractive. I'd even pick a CRX over a del Sol. I'm not a chick car hater, but they just look entirely too female-marketed cute for me.

I thought about buying a del Sol, but went with the MX-3 instead. One of the deciding factors was the fact that the Del Sol is only a two-seater, so only one passenger at a time.

Fun for tooling around in the summer, but actually taking people places? No way.
You'll take my MX-3 away ... from my cold dead hands!
