I got a 93 4 banger mx3, im thinking about ordering the KFZE, i did a search on it, but nothing came up. I can get it for $450 with the engine, tranny, ecu, and harness, or 500 from a dif. site with the engine, exhaust manifold, ecu, harness, all the cables, brackets, sensors, distributer, alternator, intakemanifold, power steering pump, and the a/c copressor. I dont know which one would be easier. Plus how hard is it to drop into a 4 banger???Any advice or info wuold help, thanks.

Um do you mena a KLZE? They are V6's and you pretty much have to change the whole front end. New Mounts, axles, harness, everthing pretty much. Do a search for KLZE swap in 4cly section.

By what i have read droppin a 6cyl into an rs is a real PITA. You are better off swapping in a BPT or B6T.

The KFZE is the JDM 2.0L V6 which has high compression pistons & same horeswpower as the north american KLDE.

no offense, but you'd have to be NUTS to try an I4 to V6 swap. If you REALLY want a fast motor, get a BP motor, and turbo it. There are plenty of aftermarket parts available for it too. Miata parts can often be made to work with them, making it quite easy to find bits.

Well if anyone can find me a bpt, for 500 hun, then i will. I was wandering cuz one of my best friends is a certified mechanic, and the engine came with everything i wuold need. Btw the site is http://www.japandomesticmotor.com . The only thing i would need i think is that tranny, and wuold i have to chang the axles too? And yes i am talking about the kfze, not the klze.

no, you need the wiring harness, engine and tranny mounts, tranny, axles, possibly the GS steering unit (although I kinda doubt it... it's better though! :P) and all sorts of other junk. Ain't worth it. Even Vaughn Nishimura says so. There's a reason why it says "NOT RECOMMENDED" when you look at the I4 to V6 conversion at the engine swap page.

While the KF-ZE may SEEM like a cheaper choice to begin with-- it will cost you more in the long run to swap everything over and source all the various parts.

Besides-- The KF-ZE is not even a good engine. For the money, if you were going to do the I4 to v6 swap-- just spend the extra $$ for a KL-ZE and get 30-40 more horsepower.

Just my opinion.
