Voltage problems

Post by jonas den brave »

Im having a problem with my mx3 1994. It seems like the generator doesent produce the needed voltage for my engine. Im able to start the car but soon after its stalls and tells me that it is overheating. Meanwhile the battery indicator is constanlie turned on. Do you guys have any idea what the bug might be?

You really need to measure the voltage. Use a voltmeter and measure the battery voltage before you start the car and again with it running. It should be about 12V when stopped and 14 when running. This will tell you if the alternator is putting out a charge. If not, check all the connectios to the battery, alternator, etc.
