i know this might be like a suspension issue, but based on the 'technicality' of it i posted it here. the problem i posted last turned out to be a busted axel, lol. my question is, with the increased torque, and my poor camber (due to the lowering) can the aftermarket (like autozone) axels handle any/much abuse. the axel that busted was only like 6 mos old (it is also the driver's side) what would be a factor to cause it to bust like that? i didn't hit any pot holes, or anything...

ive known lots of people who have the same problem when buying aftermarket axles where they just cant the torque quite like the oems can and bust very quickly.

what if i can get a 'new' one from a dealer. a friend of mine works for a dealer and is getting one for me w/o a core charge (so it's new, right?)

The discount auto parts stores axles are all garbage.
I swear by this place-
http://www.raxles.com
They use better boot material than oem and synthetic grease in the joints also. All their axles are guaranteed for life too. I have never had any failures in the axles I've bought from them. Right now I think I've purchased about a 1/2 dozen for different cars so far.

I bought a passenger side one and it ran ~$120. That was over a year ago though so I may be off with the number. This is for sure a case of you get what you pay for though.

I just called napa the other day and they carry lifetime warranty axles for our car for $99 cdn each. Most other places i called had an option for lifetime warranty ones as well but napa was the cheapest.

i'm running a pair of advance auto remanu'd axles. Over 20k miles w/the car being lowered over 2" and running a KLZE and I have no issues or signs of wear at all.
