needless to say, i'm VERY disappointed. i ran 5 times tonight, one right after the other.
my best r/t of the night was a .769
my best 1/8th time was 9.730 @ 73.25mph
my launches could use some work as my best 60' was 2.321
i had the usual problems with traction but dropping at about 2-2500 seems to work pretty good.
i missed 2nd gear on two runs(times withheld to protect pride :D )
i was looking to run at least mid 9's. oh well, maybe next time. at least i had fun.
i'm still running a bit rich so some tuning should help. my new clutch is working nicely.
[ August 05, 2003: Message edited by: cre8v mx3 ]

jw motorsports runs 9.7 s and that car has 400hp so don't feel bad is a 9.7 a high 14 very respectable time. and thats your first go , last year at the start of the season I was running the same. and it's been alot of $$ since then

Dont feel to bad about it, seems pretty good to me. It was your first time dont hold it against yourself. BPT's are the best anyway. We dont need times to prove that.

Actually it's 9.32 in the 1/8th and I'm only running 14.5-15psi using the IHI VJ-14 turbo. My big turbo is still being built. They have had to redo the ceramic coating on the exhaust housing 3 times now. With the big turbo I'm looking to drop into the high 7's running LOW boost, poviding I can get descent tration. It should hit high 11's in the quarter running low boost. ;)

Yeah, the proof of a slip tells all..
I'll be getting some times soon, hopefully before the season's over with. I hope for at least 14's in the 1/4.

i'm trying to figure out this damn boost controller. if i can do that, i'm going to raise the boost to about 12-14psi. that should net me low 9's.

Well you can look at the bpts or zes like this:
turbos are great easily upgradable, sound cool, but also have lots of other parts that can break, need to be tuned very well
ZE is a basic engine swap, with computer runs mid to high 14s out of the box, no really tuning needed.
Nice time still Ashley!! I still don't believe that droping the clutch is better than proper pedal control but its cool my best 60 ft is a 2.2
[ August 12, 2003: Message edited by: lazzyie ]

well, i went back. i'm still running rich and my boost map is VERY unsteady. my best et of the night was a 9.5xx and my best trap speed was 78.xx mph. my r/t's and 60' still need some work.
as far as launching, it's been a mix between dropping the clutch and easing into it. either way, my 60' times aren't that good. practice makes perfect....i guess.

Ashley I still can't wait to see your 1/4 times, they should be pretty quick... Maybe you'll give Aaron a run for his money?? have you looked into a 2 stage boost controller?
And one thing about JWMotorsports: He's a good guy and he knows his stuff about the B6T so don't bash. With the bigger turbo he should put down some VERY impressive #'s. And BTW he's not BSing: it is in it's final stages of being ready... I've even talked to Derrik @ CS about it.
