Re: are these decent times?
i think u could get better times if u worked on your driving skills, im not trying to say that u drive bad, but i think that engine has potential and u'll just have to work at it to perfect it..
my "stock" (intake/exhaust, almost full interior still in the car) 4-banger ran similar times, thats the only reason i say this..
and i hope everyone can figure out that this is 1/8 mile LOL
Sold my 95 RS "Little Peanut" but she will never be forgotten.
Re: are these decent times?
I raise the BS flag on a stock RS pulling a 10.1 on a 1/8th.. Even knew it wouldnt do it. I want to see a timeslip or a video.. i would belive a video but i know a stock RS DOHC or SOHC will not do it.
And yeah that time is not that bad it would be like a 15.7ish
As for driving skill if you can keep your rt there or lower your doing good.. you might be able to launch it a little better but in the process your gonna waste your clutch or your tranny. 2.4 is good though that is about what i pull. my B6 would get 2.1-2.3 but i roasted that tranny real quick.

Re: are these decent times?
torpedan if u are "rasing the bs flag" at my comment,
i ran the 1/8 in 11.32 @ 62.63mph
i was saying that if he has a kl-03 i think he'd be able to do a little better, seeing as mine only ran 1.2s slower and its a near-stock 4banger

Re: are these decent times?
yeah it was 1/8 mile. i think if i had better tires i could have launched a little harder. but as it was if i tried to it would just spin. most or my rt's were right around there. except the first couple, where i was just getting started figuring it out. i thought my car would be faster than it was. after all i put into it.

Re: are these decent times?
There is a huge diffrence between a 10.1 and a 11.1 on a 1.8th mile. That is saying your car that runs in the 17-18's is hanging with something that runs in the 15's
Tires can make a huge diffrence see if you can get some drag radials (borrow em) and just run once or twice on em.. more than that and your gonna be shearing axels =]

Re: are these decent times?
Not really people have runn more than that with great success but if its a dry shot he is pushing it.. as long as its a wetshot it should be good for more than 50..

actually that motor DOES have some ballz. He could run a 125 safely if he installs the Nawzz right (not to say he should). The motor will handle that large of a shot easily.
I'd worry about the trans before the motor, the F series transmissions aren't known to hold more than 250 ft lbs of torque (max) and have been known to blow at about 180 ft lbs (constant) torque.
the SOHC is a B6-ME...the B6-DET (B6T) is essentially a DOHC 16v version of the same motor. The B6ME has relatively low compression, and a strong bottom end (same block as in the B6T, no differences). It was practically made for nos!!

Re: are these decent times?
Man if they put the sticker on it from the factory it would have been so much quicker..

Yeah i remmeber reading a nicee long thread of people debating over the guyy who ran the 125 shot on it. Yeah trannies are the big problem you get to face.. if they built the transmissions like they did the motors i would be a much happier man.

Something is wrong here. I have a kl-03 and with a stock 1.8 clutch I had better times.
Here is my best time with stock tires:
R/T 1.207
60' 2.243
1/8 9.693
mph 73.92
1/4 15.008
mph 92.46
And that was only like 3rd time at the track. All I had done to the car at that time was the 2.5 swap, suspension, catback exhaust and CAI. What did you launch at, and did u check your tire pressure? Cause all other times I couldn't get traction in 1st gear and the times were in 15.3 - 15.4 second range.
