quick question. lastnight was my first rime a the track. managed a 1.99 rxt and a few .3's...i ran a 11.1 1/8 mile at 61.964 mph and 17.495 quater at 76.775 mph....i have a 92 sohc mx-3. are these times respectable for my firts time at a track and what can i do driving wise to improve a little bit. dont suggest swap cuz im planning on the bpt(just need cash and ill beleive it when i see it!!) so no money will go into the sohc....im launchin around 3 and feather the clutch out and shifting at 6100 rpm in each gear. im thinking of carryin it to 62 in first and then 6100 in second.....thanx in advance for any advice
~Greg

one way is to lose some weight. if your not wanting to drop any money into it i would say just gut the hell out of it. and i would think that those times are respectable for only 88hp. what all have you done. if anything make your own intake. wont cost too much but will help. good job and not too bad for your first time out. were ya nervous?

i have intake and muffler, but that is like 1hat 5hp max! a lil better acell so.. and well....not gonna gut it cuz.....im not too serious with it yet. just wait for the bpt!! my friend in his gs-r was like dude, ur gonna **** up ur first times so dont worry. i was more nervous of running an 18 on my first run but i hit a 17.6. so from that my confidnece grew, had some **** runs but o-well. but the run with a run with the .199 rxt i murdered a tiburon off the line, and won by .019!! go me. thanx though....just wanted to make sure im actually driving the car correctly, not like a lot of kids i know aorund here that dont know their car for ****. wel peace out all. take care

out of three runs on a very hot and humid night .....
mx3 94 with 1.6 tranny/flywheel, open air filter (conic) with an ultra restrictive resonator ......2 inch exhaust system and bp55 euro spec mapping rated at 165 in europe
I dumped between 2300-2800 .....and it gave me 9.586 on the 1/8

Well I finally got my HKS Type-1 US-Spec Turbo timer in. It's reading about 2.5MPH slower than my speedo and my tires are larger than stock diameter by about 1/2 inch. It said 1/8mile:
9.72 @ 76MPH on 225/45/16 Yokohamma AVS ES100's
Hopefully I'll get to the track soon to see how the times compare. Personally I'm, sure it is really running low 9's due to the speedo reading slower than I'm really going.
