The V6 accord has the F22 engine. It has 200HP and 195TQ. It's alot heavier but you'll still get your a-- handed to you. The MX-3 GS can beat any civic under SI. A good driver can beat an LS and RS integra. The Eclipse RS is a good race. The MX-3 isn't a really fast car in stock trim, especially when being compared to other sport compacts. Your best bet is to get the KLZE swap. Then you should be able to beat most stock cars.
[ June 09, 2002: Message edited by: VizualXTC ]

The V6 accord does not have the 4cyl F22. I believe it's engine code is J30. At any rate, I've beaten one when I had a clutch and ported intake manifold. He had at least exhaust, cause there were two big fart cans out back. The thing about the V6's is that they're all automatics.
Moved to the Racing forum.
[ June 10, 2002: Message edited by: David Coleman ]

Ever. They're supposed to run ~16.0. At the time, I was around 15.8 in street trim, so I don't know what you're talking about. I toasted one by 1-2 carlengths 4 different times. My mods: ACT, ported manifold, bypassed TB coolant, intake.

roughly 30 to 40 HP would have to be added to the GS to beat a stock Accord. Ive been beat by a V6 Accord and they are pretty fast... I had him off the line but he caught up pretty quickly. And yes all the V6 models came in automatic only.

Accord V6 coupe: 3283#/200hp = 16.415#/hp
MX-3 GS: 2600#/130hp = 20#/hp
Now factor in the reduced weight, better gearing, and less drivetrain losses, and it's very believable that the V6 MX-3 to run with the Accord.

so I don't care what he has...a mx3 v6 could not take a v6 accord.....maybe if the guy wasn't racing then a v6 mx could take it
