Corksport SS Brake Lines, Who have tryed them??

Hey just want to know how many of you are driving around with the corksport SS brake lines on?

Some guy on here stated once that they didnt fit correctly because they were missing the "rounded side" on the nut thats used to fix the lines to the struts..

Is this true??

Any other than corksport that offers this?

Can't recall seeing the SS product offered with a black rubber jacket. Most ppl seem to prefer the aftermarket look of the SS. You could always apply heat shrinked blk. rubber tubing such as used to protect wiring. It's inexpensive, comes in assorted diameters, available from any electrical supply house, shrink-fits quickly with a hair dryer.

Perhaps:I would like to keep the SS-look too,but since theyre not TÜV approved or anything,i would probertly get some problems with the law over here "for every 2 years our cars gets checked for emissions and if theyre street leagal"

Heatschrink wouldnt be flexible enough,it would interfear with the lines normal travel,and not look like stock anyways

Re heatshrink: we must be talking about different stuff. Very thin walled, very flexible (you could tie it in a knot it's so flexible), withstands extreme heat/cold and could be slipped over the SS lines then heated to shrink either before or after the SS lines are installed.

We were talking about the samt thing,i just have never used any kind of heatshrink that was flixible or that i think will be durable enough to put on my brakelines

Are you talking of experience with the type you linked to? or do you think its flexible??

Normally heatshrink isnt ment for applications where theres movement,and it gets harder in stiffness after shrinking,but thats all off topic.

Have you tryed the Corksport SS brake lines?

Yah, that thin walled stuff I linked to is what I use all the time on telecom/network wiring infrastructure projects. Have a bunch here from past network install projects so I use it on my cars, around the house etc. Even after shrinking, that particular type stays very pliable, flexible, and certainly seems to exhibit flexibility beyond the bending motion your brake lines would ever be subjected to, even when moving the calipers around to work on your brakes. Sorry, I've never installed the CS SS brake lines. One day maybe... but for now got my hands full...

i have them and there covered in blue
there a pain in the... to install they don't fit well where the clip has to go in
i could of done each side in 30 min but due to the problems it took me over 3 hours a side

What did you have to modify??
Was it because you had to round the nuts so the fit into the strut

ya the strut was a pita but line that hooks up to the body of the car is really hard to get right

So is it just that theyre hard to get in/on? or do you have to modify the nut or strut or something to make it fit??

How was your brakes afterwards? and are the corksports worth all the trouble

I've been pondering this mod for some time too but man, twelve hours for installing all 4 corners! Was the performance improvement worth it? Knowing what you now know, if you had it to do over again, would you still do it?

Why don`t you just talk to the people at www.gpartners.se? They have Goodridge brakelines wich is a direct and perfect fit (never heard anything else), and they cost about 900 SEK.
Cheaper than buying brakelines from Corksport atleast. I bought my EBC Greenstuff directly from gpartners, very nice people.

Nope i think the 32,5$ price difference would be more than enough to send the brakelines from US to Denmark,if i ordered from sweden i would have to pay even more because of their expensive shippingrates...

When i changed to redline gearoil earlier this year it was allmost half the cost in shipping to get it from UK compaired to sweden,rediculus i think when theres even a bridge from Denmark to sweden

On another note,how does the greenstuff work?? do they dust alot?

i put them on when i did my rear disk swap. i think they are well worth it. no fade in the pedal at all. over all im very happy with them. just a little difficult to put in. they are an odd size or something. just a hair too big, but with some fit angling around and maybe the use of a dremmel. they go in quite nicely. i used the KVR pads carbon fiber pads, supposed to have low dust. i wont buy another set. they have alot of dust and arnt all that great.
