Sean Matthews and Tekguy both ran those spring rates on the street with no issues.

thanks david, this is going to sound really dumb, but the GC coil over kit, when ordering from corksport, comes complete for all 4 corners right? yeah its a dumb question , thanks in advance,
chris 93RS

Yes, you get springs for all four corners. One thing I noticed is that NOPI also carries GC and they have two different part numbers with one specifically for use with Tokicos. They're also cheaper than CorkSport by about $20.

thanks guys, the help is appreciated. So David im tryin to figure this out, since the mx3 or protege for that matter is front wheel drive, you would be better off using a higher spring rate up front and then a lower one in the rear? ( the 20% difference like you said for the rear. i was thinking then, that maybe i could go with maybe 375 up front and then 300 in the rear, any thoughts? well, thanks again for all the info.
chris 93RS

Im having a few issues with this thread, but i cant say that i KNOW what the correct answer is. Here's what i DO know.
Proteges and MX-3s share suspension pieces, as far as springs and struts. The parts easily interchangable.
the MX-3 guys that David listed had a pretty good idea of what was going on, and they were happy with those particular spring rates.
The Protege and EGT racers arent using anything that stiff in the back, when compared to the front. In fact, proper spring rate for them has been whatever you want for the front, and 20% less in back.
So, i cant say if those are good, but the back sure seems high to me.
