Tires, Rims and Suspension

Just wanted to post and see if I could gather some opinions on the best looking and most cost efficient way of dealing with my stock 15" rims.

My idea at this point is to settle the problem quickly by slapping 17" rims on with some decently low tires.

Will this work? Is there a better way? Suggestions and ideas on the cheapest way of solving the "wheels" conflict.
