Clunking from front end

Post by TsiMiata »

My car is making a clunking from the front end. Seems to be suspension related. Does it under hard braking, spirited acceleration- worse after hard braking, going over bumps. It doesnt happen when just turning, as in if im sitting still and turn the wheel or under steady cruising/speed adn turning. Are there any known issues with these cars I should investigate first?
[ August 12, 2003: Message edited by: TsiMiata ]

If the struts and/or strut bearings are worn they could be the culprit. That would be pretty common. Less common but also possible would be loose sway bar links or tie rod ends.
I get some clunking at low speeds when parking/turning/going over bumps at the same time. I believe it's my strut bearings, which will be replaced when I do my struts.

i have a few problems right now with my suspension. struts and shocks are gone and i'm thinking that i have a bearing out too. if i just hit i dip in the road, it looks like i have hydrolics. it sucks! i priced everything and it's not going to be that much to fix, which really made me happy. let me know when ever you find out what's wrong!
