Leaking Oil

Post by shocker »

For the past couple of days i have noticed small puddles of oil underneath my car after i park it. Today i removed the plastic covers underneath my car and found a small hose that seems to be leaking oil. It is sitting right above my oil filter and then it heads upwards. Can anyone tell me what this hose is and if it is the problem and how to fix it? Thanks in advance

yup, my car leaks oil too. I finally got a chance to jack it up this weekend when the weather was nice and saw it was in the vicinity of the oil sender and oil cooler/filter. I'm guessing either my filter gasket is leaking, my oil cooler has a leak or my oil sender is leaking. I'll fix it this weekend when I have access to my garage.

Either way, the parts are inexpensive to replace, and it isn't too hard to fix. you just have ot remove that plastic sheild and get under there and unscrew some stuff. you are definitely going to have ot drain the oil so you might as well change the oil while your at it.

I had to change my sending unit when I did the KLZE swap. I drained the oil but didnt pull the filter. Oil gushed out everywhere when I pulled out the sending unit. So make sure you take off the oil filter FIRST.
