weird smell, maybe clutch?

i put in a mx-6 act clutch in my car about 3 weeks ago and it was running fine but 2 days ago i smelt burnt asphalt coming from the vents, then the next day i had bad clutch chatter on the drive to work(5 min) and havn't got in chatter again but still have the smell ever once in a while
any ideas?
