this goes to white fish and other kl03 swappers...
i read the board almost everyday and although klze is what i want, its a little pricy and lot of mxers are having minor problems with idle and other areas. when i swap i need it all to just work without much fine tuning. With the kl03, were there any problems experienced or did u just swap the motor and ecu and have a good running car? also what kinda of 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are u pullin with the kl03?
thanks for any replys
Dan

I can only speak for myself
as far as pricing keep in mind that I paid 800=engine 100=ecu and 45=vaf canadian but the motor had 100,000km on it could have gotten a ZE for 1800 candian but it only has from 20,000 - 40,000 km
So your also paying for very low Kilometeres

My car fired up right away no problems at all but then again I started the 626 that the engine came out of at the junk yard so the engine only sat for a week out of a car before it was in my car
It also depends on how bad the butcher the engine when they remove (eg cut vacum lines)
1/4 mile well I suggest you upgrade the clutch mine was around 20 or 30 thousand KM old before I did the swap and it slips my best time was 15.2 at 92mph but thats a easy change into 2nd and a slip into 3rd
but maybe I'm a bad driver because some people say mid to high 14s easy

The ZE is only alittle more then the 03, but then I believe its worth it. I got the 03 cuz it was in great condition/low km. I believe the 03 is more direct bolt on compare to the ZE. With more modifications needed with the ZE. My 03 bolted on with almost no problems. The exhaust manifold would most likely need to be modified slightly to fit. U can run the 03 with the K8 manifolds, ecu,VAF with no problems. But I would suggest using the 03's manifold cuz u do lose alot of high end without the 03 manifold.
