BATTRY CHARGE light on when braking

Whenever I stop and have my foot on the brake, the CHARGE red light for the battry goes on. And when my alarm goes off, after a bout 10 seconds, the sound becomes weak and distorted. Is my battry too old or do I have an electric problem.

sounds like it's either your battery or your alternator. get them both checked.

I put in a new battry yesterday and the light still comes on. I've notived it only comes on immediately when I turn on all the electrical things (lights, fog lights, stereo amp, defrost, heater) and when I turn off one of them the light dissapears and it comes on when I step on the brake and the brake lights go on. I checked the charging og the battry and it checked out fine. This seems to happen especially when it is raining and the ground is wet. I'm thinking maybe there is somehow water getting in around the alternator and short circuiting or something. Any ideas.

You have a thing called a voltage abilitator located on the inner fenderwell on the passenger side. That's probably getting really dry. Make sure that when you clean youre engine next time to soak all the electrical componentry really well.

i'm having the same problem and i did new batt and alt so its gotta be the belt it didn;t look bad but i am gonna change it now hopefully it helps! my car stalls at lights if i have my stereo cranked and the blower motor on!!! its a pain in teh a--!!
