Alarm install for MX-3

Post by Maddbuck »

In september I tried an alarm install in my MX-3 and failed, my fault or bad alarm i don't know. But anyways I managed to get all the wires that I needed and spent hours testing to make sure of the right ones for all the connections to the alarm unit. One thing that I was not sure about and spent hours debating on it is whether the MX-3 uses a positive door trigger or negative door trigger. I ended up using the negative trigger wire from the alarm unit and I have no idea if this was what cause my alarm install to fail.
If anyone knows the answer and other tips I'd appreciate it Thanx in advance.

Thanx that clears one thing up, I fried the alarm so I dumped the idea of an alarm for now. I only really wanted keyless entry. So now I'm thinking of putting in keyless entry with starter disable since the relay is still fitted to my car.
The unit comes with onboard relay for the parking light flash confirmation so I don't need a relay for that wire(White) and I connect it to the red/black wire behind the dimmer switch, is that correct?
What other relays do I need? I figure I need 2 (30 amp?) relays for the door actuator, and a relay for each aux. output channel, is that correct?
Thanx again
