NEED MAF HELP ASAP!!!!

well, i was trying to make a custom intake out of a civic DX intake and needed to move it this way and that but the MAF wouldnt reach far enough so i unscrewed it (the wiring from the trap door thing). when i pulled it apart i disconnected the wires. not smooth. i tried reconecting the wires where they looked like they went but to no luck. So now it will start then putter out almost imediatly. Whenever i tried to start it i made sure it was hooked up to the intake to get the pull from the throttle body. i have not tried disconnecting the battery and hoping that works. the only thing else i can think to do is to go junk yarding and cut the wires then put in a new one. Please any help would be greatly appretiated.<BR>also, I pondered getting a stand alone which i wanted to get anyway and i'm sure that would fix the bastard but i don't know how to go about putting one of those in.
