B6T engine swap..can someone sum it up?
I've been playing with this idea for some time. A B6T engine swap is a great idea, The after market is strong for the motor since it has a history rally racing. But I've been told conflicting information.
This is what I think I know:
1. The motor will bolt up to the engine mounts and tranny.
2. There is a big hood clearance problem.
Can a hood scoop fix this?
3. The B6T will run off the stock computer with the help of a fuel and boost controller.
4. A second Gen. RX7 fuel pump will fit the MX-3
5. The power steering and A/c will bolt up.
So for parts what am I looking at? I guessing something like this:
B6T Engine
Custom intercooler
Intercooler piping custom-(that'll be easy.)
F-con from HKS, Blitz
Boost controler, Blitz or HKS
Clutch (Stage 2)
Fuel Pump
Hood Scoop
I'm missing stuff fill in the blanks.
I really think this could solve the power problems of the 4-banger crowd. I mean you get a soild engine with the power of the V6. And with a couple of extras you could near 200hp. That would be enough for me. I'm worried about the daily driving thing though. Will the engine idle smooth- Or even start.
To all those that are in the process or have completed it can you help me out.
