and THATS why over the years i have learned to do repairs myself..95% of mechanics are shady.

That is why it's important to use the R134 conversion kit. The oil in this kit will not react with any traces of the old R12 oil. :wink:

you can do it right, or you can do it... the "discount" way.

Purge the system of R12 and it's oil. It's the best way.

All R12 must be evacuated First. BTW in the US you must be licensed to work on A/C containing R12. So again, the best bet is to bring it to a know good establishment to purge and remove any R12 refrigerant gas. It's the law and we don't want to keep messing up our only planet we have. Right? :wink:

Good to know, I almost bought a conversion kit and did it myself, but now I'll get it purged first. My interest in saving the planet is that it's usually cheaper to go green, probably not it this case tho lol.
