it might be a tad hard to see what your looking at, but hopefully everyone can make it out.

fry_81 wrote:ya i know the pics are rather tiny, photo bucket shrinks them unfortunatly. lol ya i thinking the same thing about the village the first time i saw it. lol and ya an auto x event would be really cool. but unless our cars are heli-dropped in there, its looking doubtful lol as i have yet to find any sort of entrance. ill keep searching, and ill keep everyone updated.
there MUST be an entrance...why would they build roads if no car could enter? and sidewalks too. strange

i wonder why everyone left. Or maybe they just vanished (i dont believe that could happen though). Did you get the feeling when you were walking around there that you were being watched?
Yeah and it doesnt make sense that they would have paved roads there, yet no sign of a way to drive in.

Fry, how about the names of the closest towns N, S, E, and W of that spot? Are there street signs? Is there sequential building numbers on small metal plates atteched to most buildings? Are for the most part every other home is identical? That is to say, are there about 3 or maybe 4 styles of home designs which are duplicated? Are most duplex's? Does it look that maybe the front's of the homes are facing backwards, ie the roadside of the house faces what appears to be the rear of the house and the front is actually in the backyard? I have a pretty good idea what it may be. Get me the names of the street signs if any or the names that may be over the larger buildings like the gym, pool and bowling alley. Are those buildings number also? I'll bet that the gym, pool and bowling alley are all in the same building. There's probably a couple of buildings that look like they could have been dormitories. There may be 2 to 3 separate single family dwellings that are distinctively nicer and bigger than the rest and they're probably set off from the rest of the houses. Any flagpoles at different spots? Interesting to see what your answres will be.

its extremely thick forest thats next to impossible to walk through because of all the overgrowth and branches. it takes quite a while to actually reach the town. and the forest around it spans quite a ways. many square kms.

im going to wait until i can find a reasonable entrance before i give away the directions to this place. i dont want people getting lost out there, as its not a matter of going in a straight line unfortunatly....dont worry though ill keep everyone updated on that.
none of the houses have numbers on them...or at least anymore for some reason? i am yet to see a street sign. its very odd. all of the stores and buildings are nameless...some of them i can see have sections where a sign probably once was... but cant find... and yes the gym and the pool are the in the same building, however the bowling alley is another building.
as for home styles...alot are similar styling yes...kind of like a modern day subdivision...where all the houses are pretty much the same just tiny variations, and different colours.
what do you have in mind jschrauwen? im very curious to figure this place out.

some kind of chemical weapon research or nuclear research, something that your government doesnt want you to know about, so if someone's missing after reading this...well you know who took them

maybe its an old army base or a residence for soldiers. Borden isnt too far from barrie so maybe it housed soldiers when borden was bigger?

Do you think it could have been some sort of movie set? If you want a movie set in the middle of nowhere, where better to build than the middle of nowhere?

i dunno, its possible.... but having walked through alot of the buildings, this was an operational place, with no short cuts taken, which makes it unlikely it was a movie set.
interesting idea though.
