Bad week ....
Bad week ....
Arhhhh!
Monday had a little fenderbender, $500 to fix my hood. This morning, speeding ticket, 92 in a 60 on Lakeshore. My question to those in the TO area, any advice how to fight this thing? I really need to get off, don't need my insurance going up. Anyone?

Re: Bad week ....
some type of explanation might help people hook ya up with an excuse. I seriously doubt your going to get off of a ticket where you were going 30 above the speed limit.

I think most people who get a speeding ticket have no explanation, they were going too fast. I was a little late for work, nice open road.....
What I was getting at was, I heard that setting a court date, a postponing it long enough, it can get thrown out of court. The cop did say "I have to give you a ticket for 92km in a 60km zone, BUT if you take it to court I can reduce it." Insurance wise, it doesn't matter too much wether you're 20 or 30km over, it's still a ticket.

Re: Bad week ....
Its not that bad, 30 over is good. I've done 180 in don-mills and sheppard and that was racing; what I did was, i gave it to my lawyer and he did as andrew mentioned. He filed the ticket and took it to court, but when i went with him to court, he knew these people that filed the ticket for a year and 2 months after and a month b4 the court day, he filed a motion that the date is too late. And taaadaaa, he won the motion and yesterday i got an abstract to see how bad my file is, and #$uck, not even a single point after 6 or so tickets i've gotten in the past years,,,

*excuse the way i torture english language* :p

Re: Bad week ....
true.
So kuruption, did you do like I said and kept postponing it till it finally got thrown out? How long did the process take?

Thanks, I hope so too.
They do say that bad things happen in 3's though.
Just hope my third is only a parking ticket or something.

Set up a court date, find out where the cop lives, and on the morning of the court date slash his tires and tie him to his bed so he cant show up. JUST KIDDING!! Ive had a few tickets, i just suck it up and pay the fines..

Re: Bad week ....
bro you can prolly get that reduced to 15kph over with no points if its your first speeding ticket. my ticket was 107 in an 80, went to court, talked to the crown, and got it dropped to 15 over with no points. good luck with it bro, shouldnt be much of a problem!

Re: Bad week ....
I don't know the laws in Canada but in the states you can pay a lawyer a couple hundered bucks to have the ticket pulled from your record so your insurance doesn't go up. Good luck man, fight the power!

Re: Bad week ....
So I spoke to my insurance brooker and it's probably a good idea to try and get off this ticket. It's my third one, and they're all on my record still (3 years). Soooo, I opted to go to "X-Copper". I'll let you guys know what happens.
