4cyl vs. 6cyl swap with $5,000 *best value*

Post by yellowtoe22 »

ok, i've got 5 grand total to spend on an mx-3. i've made up my mind that the first mod i make will be an engine swap. the question is which car should i get (4 banger or v6) and what other mods should i make with whatever money is left over. i'm planning on doing the swap by myself with a few friends. any info is greatly appreciated.

id say go with a 4cyl dohc mx-3 to start out with. but thats if you want to swap the bpt gtx in and it be a little easier. the 4cyl sohc you can swap the b6t in. nice motor just doesnt start you out with as much power. with the v6 you can swap the klze or the klde i believe it is. the v6 is a little harder to use f/i on. not much room. the b6t and bpt are both turboed stock. thats why i chose the bpt. higher starting power and its already turbocharged stock. just figure out what your goals are. then go from there.
