your opinion

Post by OsoSlo z28 »

i really enjoy my mx and i have plans on doing a motor swap in the near future, but...i'm also looking at getting another car. i know this is an mx board but in your honest opinions, would you take a 2000+ 1.8t vw jetta over the mx? just curious what you all have to say. thanks.

id take a 1.8T golf over the Jetta....just not a fan of the new Jetta, and they are heavier.

yeah, i was looking at the golf 4dr(kid) and i'd like those as well but those are a bit harder to come by with the 1.8t, and there isn't much of a diff in weight between the two(jetta and 4dr golf). i'm probably going to try to get a 2000 year model since they have the same potential and it would be a bit cheaper.

the ones below 2000 are slow as dirt because they didn't have the 1.8t yet. 2000 had 150hp, 2001 had 170(listed as 150), and 2002 has 180. i'd love to have a gti, but like i said, i need a four door. so would you get the jetta gts or a 4dr golf gts? thanks for the replies

that's a good thought cause that sounds like one bad-@$$ car, but i already tried to talk my wife into letting me swap the mx for another 2door. she said if we're paying for another car, she wants to drive it too therefore it has to have 4doors. is what you heard just for the gti or the 1.8t in general?
