Manual Trans.

Post by Shadowhawk »

Can anyone give me an idea of what manual trans. will fit behind a 1.6 in a '93 MX3?????

Mine lost 2,4,R and the speedometer while visiting in Atlanta this weekend, and I need to get it up and running ASAIP. I'm riding my motorcycle right now, but it needs work that will keep me off of the road for about a week. If the gear ratios or the speddo. will be off, that's NBD, I need it driveable. I'll sort out the rest later............

There are lots of posts that should show up with a search. There is basically an "F" tranny and a "G" tranny. Yours is the "F" tranny. A "G" tranny has slightly different gearing, and it needs bigger half axles. I don't remember what else sports the "F" tranny, but I recall seeing it many times in other posts.

I've been searching for this for a while, does anybody actually know the differences in the gearing between the F series transmission? Specifically a 4cyl mx-3 vs. a 91 323 se. I bought one the other day with plans of putting it's transmission into my 92 Sohc.
