Some things you can do to get more power out of your 1.6dohc engine are:

Disconect the hot water going threw your throttle body, dont forget to reconnect it for the winter.

Get a (i forget the materal used )aftermarket heat insulating spacer for the intake.these are made for the miata 1.6, they use a different manafold but the bolt pattern an ports are the same

A miata 1.6dohc exaust cam can be swapped, do a search for details.

Put in a cooler thermostat for the summer.

If you dont have a big electrical power demand ie big kick *** sterio, under drive pullies free up horse power.

The sohc cold air intake can be converted to work on the dohc, the free flowing filter an the replacement of the rubber hose with the restrictive ribbs makes a differance.

Remove the heat from under your hood. mx-3s an most other cars suffer from power robbing high underhood tempetures,a reverse hood scoup or vents will help with this.

Synthetic oil wont give you any more hp but will let you use what you have.

Probe headers, the conversion aint no rocket science, a little grinding an drill a couple more holes. I have a bit about it on my cardomain site, the rest of it will be posted real soon

Have your throttle body bored out by a machinest from 55mm to a 60mm. As we speak there is members researching / looking for a 60mm direct replacement

These are just some of the things you can do plus what the other members mentioned. I dont understand when people say things like :no nope absolutely nothing you can do! Dont listen to the closet hondaowners!

as to the easy way of HP
i dont like Nitrous b/c the hook up is way too easy for me
i rather do a custom turbo etc....its more techincal & its more work...i enjoy the workin on the car as apposed to just havin a kit
buy a wet kit if you want a little more work. money tends to be a factor for some. ;)
Fast imports only come on two wheels.
