you can but it is highly not recomended. i did and blew out all my berrings in the stock B6, but i dont think that it had anything to do with not having the IC, i think it was an oil additive i put in. i only spent 50 USD on a front mount ford probe IC at my local wrecking yard. iv heard you loose about a pound of boost on average going threw an IC but you gain HP from it.

If you lose boost through your intercooler it's a good thing. All it means is that your air is being cooled.

Yep..I know! :(

So, the question is just that..can I put the BPT without an intercooler for a few months?? (again: I'll not drive hard, it's not my daily drive, and I can even shift at only 2000RPM, without spooling the turbo...)

Thanks again!

Cooling the intake charge lowers the occurance of detonation as well as ramming in a greater mass, thus making more power.
You can run any turbo system without an IC, but you have to watch for detonation. An ECU or piggy back with a knock sensor, or just proper tuning & running higher octane can help avoid that.
I know of many many cars out there running right off the turbine, it's all in the tuning.
The contents of this post are the opinions of myself and are NEVER meant to be percieved as the "be all, end all". So cram it!! :p

Yes you should be able to run a turbo without an intercooler. But you have to watch your RPM and your knock just like that guy said. I am not sure but maybe u can retard your igniton a bit, again i am not sure if that really helps. High octane gasoline is a must with a turbo and you should be thinking about geting an oil cooler. I know for fact that some older turbodiesel cars in europe run with no intercooler, but than agin they are diesel.

WHY WAIT FOR ONE TO ARRIVE?!?! Just go find a Mx6/probe/626 intercooler. They're BIG and effiecient. WAY better then Mistu IC's. They're easy to find and cheap! GO GET ONE! It's not worth risking ur engine non IC'd. Just go do it!
