Mazda6 motor swap

Post by tcmx3 »

Has anyone thought about swapping in the 4-cyl from the Mazda6? if so, has anyone looked into how much the swap might cost? I've asked a local shop, and they told me that it would probably cost too much to be worth it? I'm just windering because it seems to be a pretty good engine, and it starts out with 60 more horsepower than our stock motor.

I know some of us discussed whether or not the V6 could be swapped into the GS MX3's....they look very similar.
However being that the Mazda 6 uses a Ford Duratec engine the answer is no. I'm not sure about the 4cyl but odds are no also.

The 2.3 has completely different mounts and accessories. You'd pretty much need a donor mazda 6 to get it done

As always...enough money and ANYTHING can happen. I read somewhere about some guy putting an Odls 442 or something in a Festiva...
Set your HP goals, then figure out your budget to get there. Otherwise you'll end up spending Way too much.
