i don't know if you guys have this problem, but my car is loud, not unbearably but it gets annoying on the highway. you have to speak really loudly for the pasengers to hear you. any idea how to quite it down, i kniw that it's not engine noise cause when i pop the clutch and the revs drop it's still loud, i'm guessing it's tire noise. anyone know what i can do about this, or if you have the same problem.

It's a common issue with all mx-3's. Replacing your weather stripping may diminish the wind noise a bit...but the road noise will always be there.

There are a few simple things, and a couple of involved things. <BR>1. Fiber glass the inside of your door panel, I've heard this froma few people, simalar in effect to dynamat or whatever, but cheaper and more effective. <P>2. glue polyester batting to the inside ov your door pannels, I've done this and it helps a lot. (tested by only having it on one side and drove around.)<P>3. Spray rubberized under coating, or dynamat etc. inside the door behind the speaker, and anywhere that it won't interfere with windows, locks, drain holes.... <P>4. Put batting, or foam under the rear speakers.<P>5. Spray rubberized under coating, or dynamat etc. in the tire well.<P>Now for the really involved stuff I don't think too many people will do.<P>1. put under carpet padding under the carpet in the passenger compartment.<P>2. Softer engine mounts. <P>3. Get softer springs, and struts.<P>4. take off ALL the internal trim and ruberize/dynamat the metal underneath.<P>5. Get an electronic noise canceling system. <P>The basic concepts are to reduce noise to the passenger compartment, and absorb the sound that's in there.<P>Personally I like the rubber spray since it's cheap and softer than sound matting.<BR>I used 1/2" batting for the door panels, and put the scrap under the rear speakers.<P>Good luck
