Man. Transmission Jammed

Post by bigdish »

I can't get my car out of first gear. The clutch seems to be disengaging properly, but the shifter will not move. Is my transmission bad?

Heres how to know if it your clutch, or a general idea. Turn off the car. take it out of gear. If it comes out of gear then your good to go. If not then its your tranny.

hey, i just replaced my tranny, it is not hard at all, just takes a lot of time, in a shop they say their flate rate is about 6 hours, well at the pace that i worked it took 6 hours to put in, thats with some lunch and supper breaks and soda runs, but hard no the only problems i had where getting it out the actual dropping and the actualy getting up in there to bolt in. remember TORQE IT RIGHT and take the speedo gear out of tranny and screw onto the cable, not screw cable on to gear in the tranny, if you have any questions i would love to tell you my experience with it just drop me a line at z_x71@yahoo.com
Keep smiling, It keeps people wondering what you are doing!
