mx-6 engin swap for mx-3

Post by neverenuff »

I know i posted this question in an earlier post but it was under a different topic so i hope this is'nt considered spaming. My brother has a mx-6 that I am thinking about buying off him for $1500 US. I have a 1992 rs 4 cyln sohc automatic shift and the trannie is blown. The mx-6 is a 4clyn dohc It's a 1993 0r 4 can't remember, manual shift. Now to the question, can the engin and tranny be swaped from the mx6 to the mx3 or is there a big differance in the two. If it all matches up instead of buying a auto tranni for my mx3 I'll do a whole swap. The mx-6 has 109k miles on it my mx3 has 130k. He just put a new cluch in it a few weeks ago. I know that as far as performance it is not a great upgrade but for 1500 is it worth it and will it bolt right up?

I have never heard of or seen an F series swapped into a BG/EC/CB chassis car. Too long of a block I'd wager.

I used to know alot about MX-3's, but not so much anymore. Oh well.
