Bypassing thermostat

Post by Brainless »

I know you can bypass the thermostat to get control of the fan (even when the engine isn't running) but I'm not sure how to do this. Can somebody help me?

as far as I know you need to close a circuit with a switch somewhere near the fan motors to override the thermo control of it. Don't ask which wires, I have no clue. the system uses the fans for the A/C aswell so watch out for that.<BR>sorry for being vague, only seen it done on another car.

my car was running crazy hot, so i removed the thermo. and the fans still work if u push the ac button on the dash, (my ac doesn't work anyway has leak) the fans will run and cool the engine as long as the ac button is depressed. i don't bypass anything. melanierazzberrygs
